The house was completely re-designed creating an informal, carefully curated family vacation home sitting in a 3.3 acre beach front location in Barbados. The project involved working closely with local contractors, international suppliers, a landscape designer, architect, project manager and shippers. With an 11 month turn around from initial brief culminating in a week long furniture install, the project was a major production in terms of project management ensuring a seamless hand-over in time for the Clients’ arrival for Christmas. The main living space was re-configured exchanging glass windows with shutters to create a more vernacular feel. The bathrooms were upgraded, new joinery throughout the property as well as a sympathetic colour palette.
A Jean Royere wall sconce lights the hall and vintage textiles sourced from Puglia were used both as wall hangings and as sofa cushions. Handmade silk lamps from Venice are suspended above bespoke upholstery and the bedrooms are carpeted with Suzy Hoodless designed rugs from The Rug Company.
